The purpose of the Labor Court is to allow the working public to maintain their rights against employers and to serve as a deterrent against employers. When there is a formal employment contract, the employer will sometimes prefer not to get involved with the Labor Court.

The party being sued in the Labor Court must file a defense and also file a counterclaim. The hearing of the counterclaim will be held at the same time as the hearing of the first claim.

Any dispute between an employer and an employee is heard in the Regional Labor Court. Both parties who are hearing in the Labor Court are permitted to hire a lawyer. The judgment given in the Labor Court is a binding judgment that can be used to enforce the judgment if the convicted party refuses to pay the amount imposed on them.
