Online Digital Apostille System

What is an electronic apostille service (e-Apostille) and how does it change the online document validation process?

The modernization of government services in Israel has also reached the world of international certifications in recent years, with the aim of easing the physical burden at counters and saving citizens the need to run around the country. The use of the electronic apostille mechanism (e-Apostille) allows digitally signed certificates to be issued directly from the country's online systems, without the need for the traditional physical paper sticker. This is a secure file that includes a certified electronic signature and a unique scanning code ($QR$), which allows foreign authorities in the target country to check the authenticity of the document immediately and in a way that cannot be forged on an international Internet platform. Despite the great convenience of moving to the online world, it is essential to check the acceptance requirements of the target country in advance, as not all countries and embassies are yet prepared to accept digital files and many of them still insist on physical, bound and signed paper. When verification is required for documents that are not originally produced digitally, or when the destination country requires, for example, submission of papers for an apostille stamp to the United States or Spain on original paper, the online route will not be sufficient and full physical processing will be required through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' apostille offices. In these cases, the combination of a preliminary technological review along with the engagement of an apostille lawyer to manage the logistics ensures that your file will be built exactly according to the strict protocol of the receiving country and avoids unnecessary heartache and delays.
